Shichirigahama is a beautiful coastal area located in the southwest part of Kamakura City, Japan, facing the scenic Sagami Bay. The beach stretches with a wide sandy shoreline. It is conveniently accessible, just a 3-minute walk from Shichirigahama Station on the Enoshima Electric Railway, or approximately a 12-minute walk from Kamakura-Koko-Mae Station.

Kamakura is famous as an ancient capital with many temples and shrines. The sea at Shichirigahama offers excellent conditions for surfing and windsurfing. The renowned Japanese ukiyo-e artist, Katsushika Hokusai, also depicted this area in his works. His collection called “Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji” is highly acclaimed worldwide as one of his masterpieces. This collection includes 36 ukiyo-e prints featuring Mount Fuji, and one of them showcases Shichirigahama.

The level crossing near Kamakura-Koko-Mae Station became famous as a location in the popular Japanese anime series “Slam Dunk.”
