Southeast area of Kamakura

There are places in Kamakura Southeast Area where tourists can enjoy quiet sightseeing with fewer crowds. The Kōmyō-ji Temple houses national treasures and important cultural properties, while the Ankokuron-ji Temple preserves the historical site where Nichiren spent 20 years. The Myōhō–ji Temple, known as the “Moss Temple,” has beautiful stone steps, and the Myōhon-ji Temple is the oldest temple of the Nichiren sect. Visitors can also enjoy hiking in Mt. Kinuhari.
