Number two of the five Kamakura temples, Engakuji was founded in 1282 by Hojo Tokimune to commemorate the war dead of Japanese and Mongolian that was killed by the Mongols’ attempted incursion of Japan.
Engakuji has a training hall of Zen sitting meditation inside the temple grounds.
Every Saturday and Sunday, Zen sitting meditation is holding for public in this hall.
